FROM 1ST CITIZENS TO FIBRE FCU
11 Steps to a Smooth Transition
As Fibre Federal Credit Union and 1st Citizens Federal Credit Union complete the transition into one credit union, we will need to make some adjustments to your 1st Citizens accounts.
Most of the changes will be handled behind the scenes, automatically, with no action needed from you. However, to ensure a smooth transition, we suggest your review the 11 steps listed here and take action where applicable.
If you have concerns or questions regarding any of these steps or items mentioned, please give us a call at 360-423-8750 and we will be happy to assist you.
Step 1: Your Account Number
Your account number will be changed to a 7-digit number. Your new number will start with a 1 and end with your current 1st Citizens number. Zeros will be added between those numbers if necessary to bring your number up to 7 digits. For example, if your current number is 1234 your new number will be 1001234. This number will be used for all account inquiries and transactions starting January 2, 2009.
Step 2: Your Checks
You do not need to order new checks immediately. Your 1st Citizens checks are valid and can continue to be used. Future check orders placed through the credit union will automatically update your routing and transit numbers. If you purchase checks through an outside source (i.e., not through the credit union), you will need to update this information on your next order. This includes using our routing number, which is 323380766.
Step 3: Your ATM/Debit Cards
